Proposal for The Malls Refurbishment
After being short listed to tender following a successful Expression of Interest, Engle came back to 400 for the design of their main tender.
For consistency, the existing colour palette and typographic style was re-applied, while the format and binding was developed to better reflect the tender's advanced drawing and technical content. A contemporary, distinctive and durable finish was achieved by combining traditional book-binding techniques with high quality digital print. Five differently-coloured cloths were spliced together and wrapped around hard-backed covers to produce a superior tactile quality that mirrored the attention to detail evident in the tender's proposed designs. Internal pages were then digitally printed, wire-bound to a backboard and glued into the outer cover to achieve a level of finish rarely found within such limited timescales.
