Cemmap identity and website

To celebrate their new funding from the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Cemmap wanted to update their visual identity to expand their reach in the academic and public community. Cemmap came to us needing a versatile identity style to express their rigorous and dynamic academic institution as responsive to and active in the research of behavioural patterns.

Designing a logo based on the Cemmap philosophy, we took into consideration their current standing in the academic community and their future in the research and education of their craft. The bar under their logo serves as a conceptual representation of a caliper and operates as a graphic device that is adjustable to its environment. The logo is adaptable and is designed to fit different types of media, allowing it the versatility to change shape and form the basis of a grid structure for Cemmap's corporate literature. In addition to the logo and brand refresh 400 created branding material ranging from print media to web, which premiered on June 28 - 30, 2007 at their conference on the theme Microeconomics: Measurement Matters.

The existing cemmap site contained too much text on each page and the information was poorly organised. 400 worked through ways of laying out the information produced a colourful, easy to navigate website which integrated perfectly with their in house CMS system.
