World Food Programme: Share the Meal
Digital design and illustration for the World Food Programme app leading the fight against global hunger.
Hunger is a bigger risk to health worldwide than malaria, tuberculosis, and AIDS combined, but it is also considered the world’s greatest solvable problem. The ShareTheMeal app’s goal is to accelerate a zero-hunger future by broadening the fight against hunger through digital innovation.
Working closely with the ShareTheMeal team we developed the app’s existing visual style and expanded the portfolio of illustrations and graphics to provide a comprehensive toolkit of assets. We started by producing an extensive library of avatars representing the beneficiaries of the app donations, and a bank of illustrations of the food aid that WFP provide. Everything was created with ease-of-use front of mind, and was supported by detailed guidelines to ensure everything could be easily adopted and used consistently by the in-house team.
Our scope of work also included the production of digital banner and social media templates that could accommodate a variety of visual content and messaging in 9 languages.
The new visual content reflects the simplicity and effectiveness of the app itself, building on WFP’s vision to make fighting hunger accessible to everyone.
