Welcome to the 400 team

Alice joins the 400 project management team

Hi! My name is Alice and I am thrilled to have recently joined 400 Communications as a project manager. I bring to the team past production and project management experience from my previous role at the Guardian, and editorial and research skills honed over my last two years as a freelance editor. Having completed my visual communications MA last year, I am looking forward to getting stuck in to projects that explore how we communicate creatively.

I love writing and hope to use the 400 journal as a space for exploring ideas around design, sharing some of our most creative content and highlighting examples of good design from around the world. My other passion is photography and I have spent the last two years living in Pakistan and exploring the country through film photography for my MA, something that I am hoping to continue to do now that I am set back up in London.

Jingle trucks are intricate and beautifully decorated and are traditional to South Asia - used to transport anything from animals to people to textiles.

I was lucky enough to travel throughout Pakistan in my two years there, and I used my MA course to explore urban identities across the country. The photographs I have shared here show just a glimpse of the country; Gilgit-Baltistan in the north is one of the most striking places I visited and boasts the beautiful Attabad Lake, while tent pegging events and local fairs were places to go to be immersed in local culture.

Attabad Lake, is in Gojal Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, northern Pakistan.

It is the variety of my experiences over the last two years that have been so interesting and that element of diversity is also why I was drawn to 400 and the broad range of clients that they work with. I’m looking forward to working across as many varied projects as possible and hope that I can provide a level-head and a good sense of organisation to each project – as well as some fun – and hopefully contribute some creative ideas along the way!
